Output Area
Introduction
There are three output textures for each project. One without lighting, one with just lighting and one with them blended together. There are three thumbnails to the right of the area. Clicking on these makes them current and hence visible as the main image. If an output has not yet been created a 'No Image' graphic is displayed.
Types Of Output
There are three outputs textures:
Output
This is the resultant texture created by combining all the inputs with the heightmap(s). It does not include any light information.
Lightmap
This is pure light information. So all the colours on here are caused by the lighting i.e. direct lights, ambient lights and material emissive values.
Blended
The above two textures blended together. This is your final output with all the information encoded onto it.
Note: this example volcano project uses two heightmaps to generate the volcano and the lava. This project is part of the first T2 add on pack (see extras for more details).
Tip: when viewing the world you can switch between these textures
The output textures are saved to the output directory as specified in the settings. The default file format of the output images can also be changed via the settings dialog.
The name of the currently selected output is displayed below its image.
Output Menu
Save Copy As
This can be used to save a copy of the currently selected output to the file of your choice. The texture can be saved in any of the following graphic formats: bmp, tga, tif, jpg or png.
Edit
Allows the output texture to be edited in an external editor. Which editor is used depends on your Windows file associations for that particular file type.
